2007 Reunion
The 2007 reunion was held in San Antonio, Texas on the 27th, 28th and 29th of September 2007 at the Embassy Suites North.
Everyone had a wonderful time. All would have liked to have been able to spend more time at the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg, Texas but with the travel time from San Antonio it was not practical.
The Embassy Suites personnel, Nancy Meyer the group manager and H. Lopez the food manager, made a special effort to see that the event was an enjoyable remembrance for all.
Robert Esterlein from the Nimitz Museum was the speaker at the Saturday evening dinner. He gave a very interesting talk on the museum.
Bob Hauver presented everyone present with a great scrapbook portraying last years Washington reunion.
This was supposed to be the last reunion because our number has dwindled to where it is difficult to arrange hotel and dinner accommodations. At the ship's meeting our wonderful May family suggested that Huntsville, Alabama had a new Embassy Suites and that they would like to host the reunion there in 2008.
At the Nimitz Museum there is a wall with plaques of ships that served during the war. It has been suggested that a U.S.S. PCE(R)852 plaque be added to the wall. Without question the honor has been earned by the ship and its crew. The 852 contributed a lot to the war in the Pacific and it would be a fitting honor to our present and departed shipmates to have our plaque added to the wall.
